 Level2 Storage Backs Up Their Clients’ Back Ups Level2 Storage ( http://level2storage.com ), an online backup and data storage solution, recently opened a new backup center in Georgia to serve as a security measure against regional natural disasters. The new site serves as a secondary backup measure to their main site in Illinois. Vadim Vladimirskiy, CTO of Level2 Storage, explains “as soon as the data gets backed up to our primary site in Illinois it gets automatically replicated (copied) to Georgia. This provides our customers with multi-state redundancy in case of a regional disaster. If our Illinois site goes down the traffic will automatically be rerouted to Georgia and customers will still be able to back up and restore files.” Level2 Storage hopes their second site will serve as a tangible testament to their dedication to data security and safety. “We take nothing for granted.” says Vladimirskiy. “We try to envision the very worst and find ways to overcome it.” The offsite backup solution that Level2 offers is gaining more ground each year as data becomes one of the most important assets to both large and small companies. “Insurance companies will cover fires, theft, and natural disasters.” says Vladimirskiy. “But no amount of money can recover lost data, and a fire can destroy physical backups.” Level2 Storage partners with IT companies, compliance consultants, and disaster recovery specialists to provide large companies with an off-site backup solution. But their ‘storage space’ is increasingly being used by small businesses…even home offices. The virus scares of this millennium contribute to this growth. Surveys conducted by ICSA Labs showed that 74% of respondents felt that the overall virus problem is “somewhat worse” or “much worse” than before.
